CLI developed a great understanding of the Contractor’s needs and applied a problem-solving mindset to this specific project.

Special features of the project

Physical model tests of the 2000 m-long breakwater were performed at Artelia's hydraulic laboratory. Various tests were carried out: wave channel tests and basin tests.
The project requires different sizes of ACCROPODE™ II blocks ranging from 6m3 to 12m3.

  • Max. seabed depth (toe):  -18m
  • Top of the crest: +13.4m
  • MSL = 4.20m
  • Hs= 7.7m
  • Period= 12.91s

Construction Aspect

The breakwater was built using truss cranes from the ground. 

  • Total length of ACCROPODE™ II block protection: 2000 m 
  • ACCROPODE™ II 6 m3 : 2 094 units
  • ACCROPODE™ II 10 m3 : 12,819 units 
  • ACCROPODE™ II 12 m3 : 806 units
