ACCROBERM™ and ACCROPODE™ II - Jatadharimuhan - India
📆 The first ACCROBERM™ and ACCROPODE™ II units have just been placed in the water for the Jatadharimuhan project in India, carried out by Cemindia Projects Limited on behalf of JSW.
📌 This port infrastructure project, designed by Assystem in India, involves the construction of two breakwaters protected by an armour layer made up of 17,750 ACCROPODE™ II units.
JSW and Assystem chose to build a toe berm using ACCROBERM™ units, which offers significant operational, economic, and environmental benefits.
🌱 This solution avoids increasing the quantity of concrete, reduces the footprint of the breakwater on the seabed, and lowers CO₂ emissions related to transport. Indeed, the ACCROBERM™ units—manufactured on site—eliminate the need for a secondary toe berm made of large rocks sourced from a quarry located nearly 120 km from the site.
👏 CLI Concrete Layer Innovations thanks all stakeholders for their trust, as well as all teams involved in this project who contributed to the implementation of this new technology.
