New Design Guidelines

ACCROPODE design table

CLI has revised its design guide tables with the objective to allow designers to quickly obtain a preliminary assessment of the main characteristics an armour layer to be constructed. CLI has focused its refinement of the packing density on a reliable prediction of the true characteristics of the armour layer when constructed and has based its refinement on both prototype measurements and laboratory measurements.

A particular attention was given to the low friction behaviour of small artificial concrete units –inclusive of the small laboratory model units - compared to the greater friction behaviour of large units. The placing grid of the ACCROPODE™ units of both generations has been slightly adjusted accordingly. The placing grid of the CORE-LOC™ unit had already been adjusted in 2010 in coordination with the Corps of Engineers.

The updated tables can be downloaded from the documentation page.
